August 4th was the 124th anniversary of the murders of Andrew Jackson Borden and Abby Durfee Gray Borden by Lizzie (?)  Did Lizzie do it?  Well, either way, it is worth a trip to Fall River, MA
to decide for yourself.

And if you go to the beautiful Fall River, MA you can stay at the Lizzie Borden B&B Museum or you can just take a tour and visit the gift shop.

Lizzie Borden had an axe
She gave her mother 40 whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father 41

Lizzie was accused of killing her father and stepmother with an axe, but I think we all know that.  The house has been decorated to depicted how the house looked at the time of the murders.

The entry.
The scene of Andrew's murder.
The bedroom where Abby was found.
A guest room.
We have visited Fall River several times and one of the best souvenirs I brought home was this little black hand made cat.  It is made by a volunteer at the museum and the proceeds go to the local Fall River Animal Shelter.  And it is made in the likeness of Max Borden, the resident cat.
This is Max
The Bordens are all buried in the historic Oak Grove Cemetery.
But the Lizzie Borden mystery isn't the only reason to visit, there is also Battleship Cove.
You could (literally) spend all day at this amazing museum.  Battleship Cove is a maritime museum and war memorial and has the largest collection of Naval Vessels.  It is the home to the most decorated battleship, the USS Massachusetts.  But you can also visit the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., USS Lionfish, the Hiddensee and PT Boats.
Fall River is in Bristol County and lies on the eastern shore of Mount Hope Bay at the mouth of the Taunton River, and is a lovely historic urban New England town.  A must visit!
