OUT AND ABOUT THE FIRST FULL WEEK OF OCTOBERWe headed to Oneonta, NY for a couple of days. But, we didn't stick to Oneonta, we traveled west on Route 7; spent a day in Cooperstown; and a day in Sharon Springs.
We started the trip with a ride west on Route 7 and an early dinner at Brooks BBQ before checking into the hotel. The next day we continued driving west on Route 7 making stops at local stores and farm stands.
The days started out with some pretty impressive fog, but each day it cleared up and turned bright, clear, sunny, breezy and warm.
We stopped at a couple of Great American Super Markets and picked up some
store prepared antipasti and salads to bring back to the hotel for an evening snack.
Each little town in Otsego County has it's own claim to fame, and in Unadilla it is the home of the Boys Scout's Troop 1.
We drove as far west a Bainbridge, stopped at Frog Pond then turned around and stopped for lunch at Bob's Diner in Bainbridge .
After a delicious lunch we headed back to Oneonta and strolled around the downtown. A record store, book store, gift shops and restaurants...
We get to this later.
...and some other colorful businesses.
And some fun artwork and a bit of history.
Next up, Cooperstown...
