A DIFFERENT WAY TO CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Out and about to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a non-traditional way.  Headed to Albany    and to the
Empire State Plaza   for lunch and a visit to the New York State Museum  for the 2017 Capital Region CanStruction to benefit the Capital Region Food Bank.

First stop lunch at the Cornerstone on the Plaza.

After lunch we headed to the NYSM for CanStruction.  Last year the Capital Region ranked 3 (following Dallas and Huston) for food collection.  We collected 104,095 pounds of food!  So with two bags of cans in tow, to vote for our favorite structure we headed up to the 4th floor of the museum.

It is always hard to choose my favorite structure, but this year it was pretty easy, and I am sure you can guess why.

Scooby is made out of baked beans!

Bottles of water for the windows on the Mystery Machine and the box of Scooby Snack gummies.

The Minions always seem to make an appearance.  This year as cheerleaders.
And Pokemon too.

All the major sports were covered.
Football.

Hockey.

Soccer.

Basketball, both the NBA and the NCAA March Madness.

The Olympics and Team USA.

And finally a few superheros.

But no St. Patrick's Day would be complete with out a Shamrock Shack, complete with whipped cream, green sprinkles and a cherry

and some St. Patrick's Day carnations.

It was a beautiful warm and sunny mid March day.  Happy St. Patrick's Day.
