SOME MORE AMAZING MUSICAnother great show at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park. Some amazing music from Swallow the Sun, Amorphis, and the headliner Overkill. I like to call them the "other Jersey Boys."
So, the evening was a bit chilly for March, but it was nice and warm inside. Swallow the Sun went on first and played for approximately a half hour, followed by Amorphis, with the same set; then Overkill.
Swallow the Sun from Finland opened their set with FALLING WORLD.
Amorphis from Finland as well, and I am such a fan of Tomi Joutsen.
THE FOUR WISE ONES
And the legends from New Jersey, Overkill.
Said it before and will say it again; seeing bands at UCH, although not the biggest, best venue around; it still at treat. Stage is on eye level, it is a very intimate venue and the bands mingle regularly with the crowds after their sets. The shows always start on time and the change overs are always fluid, so very little down time between bands.
I arrived at the venue around 6:30 p.m. the bands started promptly at 7:00 p.m. and after a 3 song encore the show ended at 11:45 p.m. And since I am only about 10 miles from home, I was home shortly after midnight. Great night, great show!
I got some pretty decent photos from the perfect spot in the crowd.
